Trey McLaughlin & the Sounds Of Zamar has undoubtedly made a name for themselves in the music industry by performing with gospel greats like William McDowell, Kierra “Kiki” Sheard, Brian Courtney Wilson, and James Fortune. Trey McLaughlin and the Sounds of Zamar is fresh off a competition win for their rendition of “Chasing After You,” which afforded them a feature on GRAMMY® award-nominated artist Vashawn Mitchell’s “Triumphant“ (Deluxe Edition) DVD.

Trey McLaughlin and the Sounds of Zamar released their first single, “I Will Praise,” earlier this year.  The single, available on I-Tunes, is featured on their debut album “Limitless,” which was released November 2012.

The single, “I Will Praise,” is peaking at the 63rd spot on the Billboard Gospel Charts. The single has been added to rotation at stations around the Southeast region.  With their expressive vocals and intricate arrangements of contemporary gospel, Trey McLaughlin and the Sounds Of Zamar is positioned to be one of the brightest new groups on the gospel scene.


The 14-track compilation is sprinkled with ballads and anthems giving glory to God. “Limitless” will undoubtedly touch the soul of any listening ear. McLaughlin and this anointed group are known for their rich harmonies and beautiful blends that exude the awesomeness of the Lord, which is showcased throughout the album “Limitless."​

ABOUT TREY MCLAUGHLIN

Trey M. McLaughlin was born in Augusta, GA on March 30, 1984.  He graduated from John S. Davidson Magnet School in 2002. While in high school, Trey was a member of Creative Impressions, serving as both President and Student Director of the organization from 1999-2002. He attended Columbus State University (The Schwob School of Music) in Columbus, GA.  During his time at Columbus State, Trey was a member of its University Singers and Chorale, and placed second and third in Georgia’s College NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) Competition for two consecutive years. In April of 2007, he performed the lead role of Count Almaviva in the school’s production of “The Marriage of Figaro.”  

 

Trey is a member of the professional music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and he is the former director of G.E.N.E.S.I.S. the Columbus State University Gospel Choir. Trey graduated from CSU in May of 2008, with a Bachelor of Music Performance Degree with emphasis in Vocal Pedagogy. Currently, he serves as the Director of Barefoot Productions, Inc. /Creative Impressions. Trey is also the founder and director of his own gospel ensemble (Trey McLaughlin and the Sounds of Zamar) and serves as the Director of Worship and Arts at The Historic Tabernacle Baptist Church.

The group gained mass appeal with their rendition of “Chasing After You,” which afforded them a feature on GRAMMY® award-nominated artist Vashawn Mitchell’s “Triumphant” (Deluxe Edition) DVD.

The second and current single “More Like Him,” recently broke into the Top 100 of the Billboard Gospel Chart and is quickly being added to rotation at stations throughout the Nation. In addition to being the Founder and Director of The Sounds of Zamar, a musician, and an accomplished composer, Mr. McLaughlin is a much sought after clinician. In 2014, Mr. McLaughlin had the honor of conducting a Master Class and performing at the L’Opéra de Massy in Massy, France. In October of 2015, Trey conducted a 300-voice choir in Krakow, Poland as the guest clinician of the annual 7x Festival. Trey was also afforded the opportunity to conduct a workshop and perform in Menorca, Spain and Rajadell, Spain. Most recently, Mr. McLaughlin served as the principal clinician and Adjunct Faculty at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He has also served as the guest clinician for several Honor Choruses throughout the state of Georgia.

 

Currently, he serves as the Director of Barefoot Productions, Inc. /Creative Impressions. Trey is also  the Director of Worship & Arts at The Historic Tabernacle Baptist Church, located in Augusta, Georgia. He continues his passion for writing and arranging music, teaching piano, and conducting classes in vocal technique.

 

A gifted and talented musician, composer, singer and teacher, Trey McLaughlin is destined to move the hearts of many with his God-centered, God-focused musical creations.
